Rannoch Moor is a vast expanse of wilderness located in the Scottish Highlands. It is a popular destination for photographers due to its stunning natural beauty and unique landscape. The moor is characterized by its rugged terrain, rolling hills, and vast expanses of heather and peat bogs. It is also home to a variety of wildlife, including red deer, golden eagles, and otters. Photographers flock to Rannoch Moor to capture its dramatic scenery, which includes towering mountains, crystal-clear lochs, and cascading waterfalls.

And it looks cold! Buachaille Etive Mor in the distance.
Last shot of the day in Glencoe as the sun sunk behind the Buachaille and a snow storm came in from behind and started to obscure the mountain.

I was recently asked why the skies are always so ominous in my photos. The only answer that I can think of is this...
"And as he drove on, the rainclouds dragged down the sky after him, for, though he did not know it, Rob McKenna was a Rain God. All he knew was that his working days were miserable and he had a succession of lousy holidays. All the clouds knew was that they loved him and wanted to be near him, to cherish him, and to water him."Douglas Adams So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish
This will be the last posting for a little while, but I will still be around to view and comment.

The essence of this place for me is just the beautiful cottage in midst of the evocative Rannoch Moor.
Had a roadtrip through Glencoe with a group of friends yesterday, first stop was Lochan na h-Achlaise at dawn, there was some nice pale colours showing up.
Early morning light at Achlaise
This spot on the River Etive is known as the Cauldron and the main shot is in the other direction towards Buachaille Etive Mor but I thought I'd exercise the old adage and look behind for a change.
A short walk from the Kingshouse Hotel lies the Cauldron, a small set of falls on the River Etive, with a great view over to Buachaille Etive Mor and Creise, the mountains on the right and left, respectively.
